The base is made from sturdy, maintenance-free, thick polyethylene that is weather resistant and can take a beating. The center post is made from heavy duty steel that is coated in black rust resistant paint, and can support any standard 1.5 inch umbrella pole. The four wheels underneath are durable and able to take the weight of any umbrella you have. Two of the wheels lock to provide you with additional stability. When shipped, the umbrella stand weighs in at 32 pounds, but when putting it together, an additional 80 pounds of sand is required to properly support your umbrella.
